Touring Choirs

Fiero boychoir, Lyrica girlchoir and our high school vocal a cappella ensembles ARIA and EXIT 194 are designed for choristers with more developed voices. During the school year, the touring choirs receive many invitations to perform throughout central Lane County in concerts and civic events. Whether singing for the Rotary Club, collaborating with organizations like the Oregon Bach Festival and Eugene Ballet or providing holiday greetings on KVAL- TV 13, the touring choirs serve the community in many ways. The choirs also host community singing workshops featuring professional ensembles and perform for local schools.

At this level, OFC choristers begin touring nationally and internationally. Recent tours have taken the choirs to Philadelphia, Washington, and British Columbia. Once every three years, Lyrica and Fiero and the serve as host choirs for the Pacific International Children’s Choir Festival.

Fiero and Lyrica (Ages 11 and up)

At this level, choristers receive musicianship/sight-reading instruction, continue to develop independent part-singing skills and perform more challenging repertoire. Along with continued work on unison choral singing, Fiero and Lyrica perform 2-4 part treble music from the Baroque era to the 21st century.

ARIA and EXIT 194 (ages 14 and up)

The vocal a cappella ensembles have an open audition policy for qualified students in grades 8-12. Young women who are admitted in grades 8 and 9 must also be enrolled in Lyrica. Young men in 8th grade must also be enrolled in Fiero.

These two ensembles perform a wide variety of musical genres with a special emphasis on pop vocal a cappella repertoire. Each of the ensembles has its own distinctive identity and repertoire in addition to performing together as a mixed choir of 30+ voices.
